Being the Church where the Church needs to be.
Night Church began as a response to a mass shooting in the North of Howard neighborhood. We knew, based on the eyewitness testimony of brothers and sisters on Chicago’s South Side, that when the church gets out of the four walls and engages crime hot spots with the word of God and prayer, the light of Christ will overcome the darkness. We stepped out on faith, God moved, and the spaces we occupied began to change. What started as a small act of faith has grown into a citywide movement. Through music, storytelling, prayer, and shared meals, Night Church has become a space where the sacred meets our neighbors in their everyday reality.
